Presentation, documentation
I like to think that I'm presenting to Barack Obama.
He's a man who's been shown a lot of stuff, been the recipient of many pitches, he's not (I imagine) going to stay alert to too many sloppy slides.
Think of the big picture and, even if your subject matter is as technical as it gets, remember that your audience is human. Build a narrative arc, engage your audience, reach a solid conclusion.
Have respect for their boredom threshold and their intelligence.
Intelligence
-
see your work with perspective
-
treat your audience with respect
-
remember, even very clever techies are human
-
don't use jargon
-
keep it as short as possible, no one is paying to see your show
